The Yochon is a cross between the Bichon Frise and the Yorkshire Terrier. The Bichon Frise is a sweet, nonshedding companion breed. They get along with people and other animals. Mixing it with the Yorkshire Terrier helps ensure the Yochon will be small in size. This hybrid has been getting very popular throughout the years. Their playful nature makes it a wonderful family dog. The small size makes it so the Yochon can easily be owned in either a house or an apartment. They will gladly go play outside or take a walk if their owners, however, regular daily exercise is not needed. This breed is healthy and sturdy and is good with children of all ages. Their non-shedding hair is fantastic for people who have allergies. The hypo-allergenic hair must be brushed weekly to prevent tangles and knots. Most owners prefer to visit a groomer a few times a year. The most common haircut given is called a puppy cut. This brings the adult dogs hair back down to the length of when it was a puppy. This haircut is popular. When training your Yochon, Canine Corral suggests crate training. This process usually takes weeks instead of months. Many owners like the idea of using the crate, as it provides a safe location for their new family member. The Yochon is a wonderful mix that makes a lovely family member.
