A West Highland White Terrier is commonly referred to as a “westie.” This is a small breed that does not know it is small. Most Westies are full of self-esteem, hardy and active. The West Highland White Terrier is alert, courageous, and self-reliant. They are friendly and charming. They are active and fun. This breed does require exercise. So plan to take a walk or throw a ball around the yard. It is suggested to own this breed in a house. However, apartment owning is possible. The West Highland White Terrier is a nonshedding breed. They have a harsh, wiry coat. It requires weekly brushing. The recommended tool to brush your Westie is a slicker brush. A metal comb is recommended as well.
